You may remember us from such hits as: “EQ2: Attack of the gnomes”, “Pimp My Prismatics”, and “Heroes: The Kagup Saga”. Yes I’m back in town and my return foreshadows the coming of a far mightier force, for I am but the herald of the World Devourer known as Halcyon Affinity. The guild that once visited your world in years past, decimated and enslaved every contested mob without peer, bested each world event, held every title, and ultimately showed supreme mercy by departing to conquer other worlds, has returned. It is my solemn duty to inform you that all you know is coming to an end.
Too much? Alright let’s break this down to English. HALCYON AFFINITY (you know em you love em) has officially returned to EQ2. The centerpiece of Antonia Bayle’s server history and driving force that once turned a role-playing community of dark elf worshipping socialites into a world-competitive raiding juggernaut is home at last! So many new faces, names, guilds, it’s hard to even believe all the tells and mail we’re getting. After all, we figured the new guys wouldn’t know their history, but old blood still runs thick around here with new names maybe, faces, and startlingly often… genders.
However for those of you that don’t know the stories, haven’t heard the legends, ignore the hushed whispers, and disbelieved the hype, don’t bother to get caught up now, for you’ll be witness to the second age soon enough. Know only that the nagging empty feeling of this server, the eerie ghost-like quality that lingers over every city, and groaning cavity of crushing emptiness that lurks behind every raid mob and master chest is coming to an end. The stars of this server’s sorted past, the very lifeblood of Antonia Bayle’s rise and fall have returned and we share your pain. We hear the server crying out for progression, hardcore competition, legacy, loyalty, and unbridled power. WE have answered the call and our answer will rain down the shards of Luclin, tear the world asunder and rebuild it in our own image… again.
With me I bring back a great many original stars from the launch of EQ2, and HA itself, men and women who have danced the masquerade this game demands again and again and never missed a step. Alkterran, Glyphryk, Kontra, to name a few (the names have been changed to protect the extremely guilty) as well as a cadre of new blood. We welcome all our newest members to the raiding force and look forward to adding their experience and ambition to our own.
The guild that once inspired the largest fan-club in EQ2 history (shout out to TBA), brought you frogs (not our fault they sucked), ranked third in the WORLD by SoE magazine, for raid progression, and made guild leaders cry in public channels (you know who you are) was come back, to reclaim their vacant throne.
