You should have already read the following on THIS THREAD (http://www.halcyonaffinity.org/forums/showthread.php?4665-READ-Requirements-App-Process-and-More!), but it's being included for clarity-sake.
About Halcyon Affinity
The guild was formed in EverQuest 2 shortly after its release in 2004, maintaining a top 3 world ranking for years before adventuring in to more competitive massively multi-player online games. For over 5 years we've promoted and successfully maintained a competitive yet social atmosphere. HA has gone through tough times like any other guild, but it’s our tight knit network of dedicated players that keeps our well oiled machine running. While many of our members have known each other for years, through different games and aliases, we welcome new members with open arms assuming the same effort is made from the receiving party.
We believe that if you're going to be spending hours upon hours on a near nightly basis with people, it needs to be an enjoyable experience. That shared outlook among the members is what has kept our group running throughout over half a decade as a progression guild.
What We're Looking For
Halcyon Affinity seeks to recruit players who are looking for a home, not a guild to raid with for a months. We pride ourselves on maintaining many long term members. We are not seeking players who will quit once current content becomes trivial. As a guild we will s few trive to maintain our achievements and prepare for the next content releases.
If you can’t handle being sat out for a fight do not waste your time filling out an application. Please understand that we account for all factors when handling who sits for raids (possible gear upgrades, recent performance, testing new members, overall raid synergy and composition, etc.). Everyone will get their turn in the spotlight.
Schedule and Attendance
Halcyon Affinity raids in the PST timezone. We raid from 5:30 - 9:00 PST during the week. Raid nights are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday.
During progression these times may be adjusted to squeeze in as much raiding in a week as possible without going overboard, typically resulting in raiding an hour early and an hour later (4:30pm and 10:30pm PST). We do what we must to progress, as that is the guild's end goal.
All initiates are expected to maintain 90% attendance during their initiation period. If no notice is given when an initiate does not log on for a raid, immediate action such as guild removal will be taken. There is a forum to post absences, and most officers are personally contactable.
Ideal Initiate
An ideal initiate is someone who can be vocal in ventrilo when playing a critical role. We want to know our initiates can communicate when taking on a tough task. Immediate yet detailed communication is one of many factors that seperates progression guilds from casual guilds.
We want initiates to be competitive in nature, meaning you will take the extra step to do better each raid. Researching your class (and not just current mechanic put anything possibly coming in a patch), knowing your best in slot gear, and working with members who have experienced the raid encounters are all things that we expect. If you are someone who logs on only for raids and finds any wearable gear as an upgrade, do need not apply here. We are looking for team members to better the guild and enhance an already great social experience that we have put countless hours in to since 2004.
Application Process
When the application is posted it is displayed in a member-only forum for internal review. If the application is approved we will contact you via in-game and or private message on these forums to set up an interview in ventrilo. The interview is conducted to hammer out any possible questions between the guild and the applicant and generally takes within 10 to 15 minutes. If the officers believe you are a right fit, you will be contacted once again with a guild invitation.
Once accepted as a raid initiate it may take two to three weeks to be promoted to full member. However it can be extended or shortened under certain circumstances. If we feel the initiate needs to be tested more in our raid environment or need to set cut loose then we will not hesitate to do so. We will not promote someone we feel is below the standard set by our members.
