Halcyon Affinity endeavors to be a high end Warhammer Age of Reckoning Raiding/RvR guild. Our membership is a conglomeration of extreme and passionate players whose goal is to be the best raiding guild world wide.
Our objectives are simple: To organize and propel the membership to endgame content (both quests and raids) as quickly as possible. It is this guiding principle that governs the guild above all else and we feel that this provides like minded players the best possible gaming experience.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Halcyon Affinity as a whole is driven to encounter and defeat all endgame content as quickly as possible; sharing this belief with the guild is probably the most important membership requirement.
Halcyon Affinity is an adult only guild, limiting our membership to those players 18 years of age and older. We require our player base to carry itself in a mature manner and we find this age restriction helps us to that end. Exceptions to this rule have been made in the past and may again be made in the future.
Halcyon Affinity is primarily an English-speaking guild. What we do requires a great deal of communication. All members and applicants must have at least a working knowledge of both written and spoken English.

RECRUITMENT
Halcyon Affinity's recruitment requirements evolve and change over time as the needs of the guild change. Desired classes are listed on our Recruitment Thread. If you are not playing a desired class and would like to reserve a Recruit spot for a class we currently do not need, feel free to apply: we keep these things on record, and will contact you should an opening arise.

The Recruitment phase requires:
Probationary Period that is based on current guild population / lvl: Halcyon Affinity requires a certain level of ability, knowledge, and humor in its membership base. During the probationary period, you will be watched, monitored, parsed, poked, prodded, stressed, confronted, and generally put through the wringer. We need to ensure you know what you are getting into, and can handle it. If you cannot handle what we throw at you, it’s certain you won’t be able to handle what the Mythic Development team has in store for us. During the probationary period, Recruits have no looting rights whatsoever. Any loot given to a Recruit will only be after all Raiding Members have declined to bid on an item. We are not in the business of equipping the server; if you cannot make it in Halcyon Affinity , you will not be leaving us decked out, sorry. Minimum Raid Attendance percentage is MANDATORY during the probationary period. Failure to meet this requirement may result in extension of a player’s Probationary Period, or expulsion from the Recruit process.

At the end of the Probationary Period, Leaders and Officers will hold a closed-door up-or-down vote to determine acceptance or expulsion. Please do not take this personally. Halcyon Affinity strives to make all its members happy, and excessive numbers of members negatively impacts this. No one likes to sit out of raids due to too many members.

MULTI-BOXING PLAYERS
Halcyon Affinity has many members who choose to multi-box. This is not an issue, and we encourage members to experience as many classes as possible. That being said, every member has ONE RAIDING CHARACTER, and only that character is eligible for raid loot under the DKP system. Players with multiple max level characters may occasionally be asked to play one of their alts to fill need, but looting rights will always follow your designated Raid Character, regardless of the class you play in the raid. Allowing members to multi-box on raids is taking a slot away from another member; this is unacceptable.

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT
All members of Halcyon Affinity are expected and required to maintain a professional demeanor. Each and every member of Halcyon Affinity is a representative of the guild as a whole and as such is required to carry themselves in a respectable manor. Bickering within the guild is not tolerated and will be dealt with in a swift and stern manner. Abusive behavior by members to innocent players of the server community is also unacceptable and will be addressed by officers and the offending party will be reprimanded accordingly.

In simpler terms...YES, we will kick you to the curb if you cannot control yourself. This guild is about having fun first and foremost, for both the membership and officer core. Fielding constant “Player X trained me on purpose” tells is not fun and interrupts quality grind/raid time. Be an asshat, and you’re not going to last .

NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT
All raid related information will remain inside the guild. NO EXCEPTIONS! This will include, but is not limited to: raid structure, mob locations and timers, raid strategies, mob loot tables, raid related access quests, and quest progression involving raids. If you’re not sure if it’s a secret, assume it is. Non-disclosure is of primary importance when dealing with raid information but it is not limited to raid related information. Any knowledge that Halcyon Affinity has worked to attain should be guarded with the same zeal it took to gather the information. It’s not paranoia when you’re really being watched, and guaranteed we will be.

To help assure the protection of this information we never raid or allow our members to raid with other guilds, and at times will even restrict non raid content to guild only parties. To this end, HAVING AN ALTERNATE CHARACTER IN ANOTHER GUILD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

To also maintain a level of privacy, Halcyon Affinity requires all members to set their EA Mythic page if one is created to GUILD ONLY for: Blog, Factions, Level History, Titles Earned and Other Media. We encourage members to allow general access to: Equipment, Attributes and Leaderboard.

VOICE CHAT
Voice chat is an important and powerful tool that we as a guild use to make every facet of our gaming experience more efficient, fruitful and enjoyable. The ability to communicate quickly and effectively is of utmost importance when trying to organize and coordinate a large group of people such as a raid force. Therefore, we require all recruits and members to have voice communication capabilities and be connected to our voice chat server during all raids. We also greatly encourage the use of our voice server for all guild activities (leveling, questing, etc).

GENERAL ACTIVITY
It is our goal as a guild to advance through content as quickly as possible. To realistically be able to achieve this goal requires a large time commitment on the part of the membership.

We raid long hours and we do so often, but raiding is not all that we do. A player that does not have at least 25 to 30 hours a week to devote to gaming will find it exceedingly difficult to keep up to the operational tempo Halcyon Affinity requests from its players.
We assume everyone here is an enthusiast and we play like enthusiasts. If a member is unable to log into the game and play for an extended period of time please post on the forums and make the leadership aware of your situation. If this isn’t done the officers may demote you within the guild and/or hold you to DKP penalties. Ultimately inactivity can lead to guild removal.

GROUPING AND NON-RAID ACTIVITIES
Leveling, questing and exploring generally do not fall under the NDA restriction of guild only groups. It is, however, our hope that our members will give preference to guild members over all other players when forming groups.

RAID PROCEDURES
All raids fall into one of two major categories, ether it is a scheduled raid or it is an off hours raid.

Scheduled raids will generally take place during the North American evening starting at 5:00pm PST / 8:00pm EST and generally going until the objectives for the day have been met. All times and durations of raids are obviously subject to change depending on content and availability of players. These raids are always announced ahead of time and all members are expected to attend these raids as much as possible.

Off hours raids are impromptu, put together by the leadership when we feel it would be beneficial for the guild to do so. These raids are not scheduled and the raid force will be formed out of players on line at the time, players sitting on our voice server and players we will call using our voluntary call list . Obviously maintaining good attendance on these types of raids is much more difficult, but still encouraged by the leadership.

Raid Setup
All raids will start with a “Call to Arms” (CTA), which is just an announcement that the raid is starting. At that time all players should either already be gathered at the designated meeting spot if one was predetermined or all players should be headed to the meeting spot if one was just announced. Upon arriving all players should be attentive for group assignments and instructions on what is planned for that raid. One of the most important factors of raid setup is assuring that all players arrive “raid ready” . The character is equipped with all the things it needs to be effective in a raiding context, and the player is ready to devote full attention to raiding. Also, all players participating in the raid need to be logged into the voice server and in the appropriate raid chat channel.

Raiding
Once the raid force is assembled and raiding has started, we ask that all raiders follow a few simple guidelines to help our raid run as smoothly and effectively as possible:

1. Keep the raid channel on the voice server as clear as possible. This is our primary means of communication and vital to leading a raid. If this communication breaks down the raid will undoubtedly go bad. To this end, if you hear “CLEAR VENT” said, you STFU. Now.

2. Stay alert! In a raid situation all players are heavily interdependent. If one player does not do his or her job, it can easily cost the raid a victory and waste considerable man hours. Remember, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

3. When raiding, we do not use public chat channels in game (shout, OOC, world say, etc). We operate as one entity and we need to speak with one voice. When others talk smack about us (we’re a raid guild, they will), let the officers handle it.

4. Follow the raid leader’s commands at all times. Raid leaders are not infallible and we definitely welcome feedback, suggestions and ideas. However, when it is time for action and the raid leader calls for something to be done, it needs to get done quickly and without hesitation or question.

Post Raid
Where possible, all raid loot will be collected and distributed at the end of the raid according to our DKP system that will be explained below. When loot is NO-DROP or for some other reason needs to be distributed prior to the end of raids, the officers will handle the situation accordingly.

RAID ATTENDANCE, DKP SYSTEM, AND LOOT

Raid Attendance
All players are required to maintain a minimum raid attendance percentage to be considered an active raider, and therefore be eligible to bid DKP on items dropped in a raid. The exact percentage required to maintain active raid status, and the way in which this percentage will be calculated, will be determined as we get into the raid endgame of Vanguard.

Halcyon Affinity DKP System

Attendance
Attendance is a point system displayed in percentages to determine the amount a Raider contributes to the guild.

1.

Upon arriving at targeted raid destination at the scheduled raid time, players with status of Raider will obtain 1 point of Attendance Credit.
2.

Attendance Credit is received if the Raider lasts through the entire duration of the raid. Certain circumstances for leaving early may be taken into account with officer discretion whether an Attendance point will be granted for the raid.
3.

Attendance Credits earned from raiding are displayed on the DKP site and count as Raids there.
4.

Under each individual character a list of your attended raids and thus your Attendance is displayed. You can also find a list of all raids to compare with the ones you specifically have attended.
5.

The amount of Attendance is displayed in intervals of 30 day, 60 day, 90 day and Lifetime Attendance.
6.

Your displayed Attendance percentage must be a maintained X (70%) in the 30 day in order to be eligible to spend your DKP on a raid.
7.

If your Attendance in the 30 day category is X (60%) and below you will be examined for whether you need to be set to Inactive.
8.

Your Attendance Credit is the responsibility of both you and the manger of the DKP section for correcting totals. If you find errors within your own Attendance Credit please contact the DKP Manger or other officers for corrections.

DKP
DKP is the form of currency used to bid on items in a raid.

1.

DKP is earned in increments of X (10) at the end of every hour that a scheduled raiding is proceeding. For events ending between hours rounding will up or down occur under officer discretion.
2.

DKP can be spent on items that come up from bids during the course of a raid or other scheduled bidding period.
3.

The following are Eligibility Rules for DKP spending.
1.

DKP can only be spent if you are a Raiding member of the guild.
2.

DKP can only be spent if you meet the mandatory Attendance Requirement
3.

DKP can only be spent if you are at the Raid or Standing By.
4.

DKP can only be spent on items for your primary character
5.

DKP can only be spent on items if they are a viable upgrade for your character
4.

At no point in time when bidding DKP can you spend more than you currently on the site have. This means under no circumstances are you to bid more than the total displayed number of your DKP on the main site within reason. There in lies personal responsibility of knowing if your displayed DKP total is way under due to a delay in updating the DKP section you do not bid vastly over.
5.

DKP is the responsibility of both you and the manger of the DKP section for correcting amounts. If errors are made please contact the DKP Manger or other officers for help in correcting.
6.

If the Main Tank rule is in effect the Main Tank/s will receive no DKP for their coming to raids for the price of being able to select items that go directly with no bids in place.

Loot and Bidding

1.

Once a piece of loot drops and an officer commences bidding on the dropped item all eligible, interested bidders will send a tell to the officer who is bidding the item out. This tell should be the maximum number of DKP that the player is willing to spend on that one item. All bids are kept silent, and after a reasonable period the officer bidding the item will announce the winner and the amount of DKP the item cost that player. The winner of the bid is the person who bid the most DKP, and that person will be charged one DKP over the second highest bid. Upon the player receiving their item, their DKP total on the DKP page will be revised. While officers handle all updates to the DKP page, keeping track of personal DKP is ultimately the player’s responsibility. If you find an error in your DKP, contact an officer.
2.

Bidding for items take place in the form of rounds.
1.

Round 1 – Raiding members can only bid if the item is of use to their main specialization on raids.
2.

Round 2 – If no bids are received for an item in the first round the secondary round is open for alternative specs or ways of playing your primary class in some secondary function.
3.

Round 3 – If no bids take place in the secondary round then in the tertiary round of bidding a non raider participants will be allow to bid.
4.

Round 4 – If the item isn't bid out by the end of the third round the item will be taken by the Leadership either broken down, sold, or saved for usage of the Guild at a later time.
3.

At no point in time should there be a “Gentleman's Agreement” in place. A “Gentleman's Agreement” being an agreement between one individual or individuals to bid low or not at all on a piece of gear in attempt to work the system to their advantage and save DKP. A players are encourage to keep their bids to themselves and bid accordingly to their desires upon the items.
4.

If at any point in time a “Gentlemen Agreement” is discovered to be in place between members of the guild punishment will be put in place to correct the offense.

ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE
The final responsibility of all Halcyon Affinity members is to achieve and maintain a high level of ability and knowledge of the gaming environment around us . To truly be an elite guild you must be comprised of elite players. The responsibility lies within each of us to know our classes, know the combat system in which we operate, know the encounters we will be facing, know what other classes around us are capable of, know the lay of the land and be able to apply all of this knowledge in such a way that helps us to achieve our goals. We are not an MMO training service. If you want to last in this guild, you need to be proactive and learn the game.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Guild Structure
Halcyon Affinity operates on a six-tier membership structure. They are:

Guild Leader: Those in charge of all guild policy, functions, and raid procedures. The leaders decide all raid targets, raid makeup, and hold the final say on all guild matters.

Senior Officer: A selected group of members dedicated to assisting the Guild Leader with day-to-day guild operation. Facilitators in raid strategy, website maintenance, DKP recording, and general guild upkeep. In the absence of a Guild Leader, the Senior Officer are in charge.

Officer: The Officer are the membership’s main point of contact to the Officer corps. Instructors field questions from the membership, work to resolve guild issues, and help to inform the membership about game mechanics, raid theory, and guild rules. If you have a question or concern, the Instructors are your best option. The Principals and Facilitators are extremely busy, and often miss or are forced to ignore tells in favor of more important issues.

Memeber: The army of the guild: The voices and arms of the guild. The players who do not seek to raid, but still desire the AP symbol.

Herald of Halcyon: Players in good standing who are not able to keep the required raid attendance. These players do not fall under the DKP system, and as such are only able to get hand-me-down raid loot. These members are also generally chosen last for raids.

Recruit: New players progressing through their probationary period. Advancement subject to the guidelines stated in the Recruitment section. Recruits have no loot rights in a raid situation.

INACTIVITY
Inactivity within a high-end raid guild can be devastating, but sometimes the dreaded RL must take precedence. To allow for this, Halcyon Affinity has guidelines and procedures in place to keep the guild going, even when a certain character cannot play.

Inactivity is semi-subjective. Several factors are considered before a Member is set to Inactive:
- Raid attendance below required Member level for an extended period of time (30 days)
- Not meeting Leader-established leveling benchmarks (pre-raiding)
- Extended periods of no contact with the guild
- Leadership discretion

Members will be given a one-week warning (via game chat, game mail, PM, or email) when they are being considered for a move to Inactive. This gives the Member an opportunity to avoid Inactive status.

Once set to Inactive, a player is completely removed from the DKP system (losing all acquired points). Their "slot" in the guild is considered open, and the leadership will begin actively recruiting a replacement for their class.

Establishing Member status from Inactive
Since the leadership will recruit a new member once an existing class has gone Inactive, all attempts to re-establish Member status from Inactive MUST be cleared with the leadership. This is to avoid the "well we have 3 Paladin Members, and 2 coming off Inactive" situation. We do not want players to be unhappy due to a glut of their class. A balance must be maintained, and once a Member reaches Inactive status, their place within that balance must be filled.

Once given Leader permission to re-establish Member status, the Inactive must establish Member raid attendance numbers for a set period of time (30 days). Once Raid attendance is back to Member level, the Inactive will be returned to a full Raiding Member, marked as eligible for DKP and loot.
