BLOG - Entertainment retailer HMV is now taking pre-orders for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, with the Xbox 360 version slated for launch September 26, 2008.
The retailer’s website indicates that the PS3 version will launch in the UK on April 18, with a 360 version available five months later.
While the title hasn’t been officially confirmed for Xbox 360, Konami are known to be mulling over the possibility of a multiplatform release, something platform-holder Sony has long hoped will not materialize as the title has been billed as a PS3 system seller.
"Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," senior Konami executive Kazumi Kitaue said last month.
