Ok fellow locks and guildies. Here is a proposed spec, that I think has alot to offer the raid. I have been requested to get 3/3 Malediction and 2/2 Improved Healthstone. This spec will also maximize my affliction damage until I have the gear to support destruction spec. The talents also give me max range for all my spells. Feel free to comment on, or give any suggestions or improvements.

Thanks!
Tepes

Drop the 2 points in Improved HoT. I can't think of a time outside of pvp where this is consistently used. Would recommend putting a second point in Imp drain soul and a point in Intensity to help with shadowbolt push back. (Normally I'd criticize the CoEx but there is really no other useful place in the tree for it.)

41/2/18 (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?0501220512230115512312000000000000000 000000505000500200000000000#none)

Having said that, you'd probably want to leave the 2/2 Healthstone specs to the destro locks as they already have to dump points into demo. This would let you fill out intensity and maybe even pick up Shadowburn.

What he said. I'd also throw a second point into Improved Drain Soul. Maybe from Curse of Exhaustion or Soul Siphon.

I really agree with Serhan here in that 2/2 Improved Healthstone should be left to Destruction, just because it fits so nicely for them (there really isn't any other option to getting up to ten talent points for them).

I'd kind of like to see a Warlock put 3/3 into Improved Imp just for MT purposes. Maybe discuss this with Abigor and the officers. The benefit isn't particularly huge, but small things add up.

Yeah I have 2/2 in the demo tree because it was requested of me to train that way by Abigor. I am down with putting both those points into intensity instead. Yeah If I take out Improved Howl of Terror, and put one of the extra points into improved drain soul it will be capped, though Improved Soul Drain isn't a very uber talent, what else could I do? This would allow me to use the other point to keep Shadowburn (which I love). I would love to respec destro but my spell crit is still lacking. Hopefully if I get some of the gear I am working on soon, I will have close to 20% spell crit. I heard 20%-25% spell crit is good depending on how many locks are raiding at the same time. As you can tell from the armory, my spell hit is 1 pt over the cap, so I will rarely be resisted, and that is also why I did not put any points into Suppression.

Alteration to proposed spec:

Don't underestimate Imp Drain Soul. 10% reduced threat for an affliction lock is a VERY useful talent. You don't want to be the nublet pulling threat on Bloodboil in Phase 1 or on RoL in phase 3.

I may not understand Improved Soul Drain correctly, but I think you only get the 10% reduced threat if it procs, its not a flat 10% threat reduction. And the only way it will proc is if your Soul Drain kills the enemy. I rarely see Improved Soul Drain proc. I think I have maybe seen it proc twice.

Returns X% of your maximum mana if the target is killed by you while you drain its soul. In addition, your Affliction spells generate X% less threat.

The reason you've never seen it 'proc' is because it's a flat 10% less threat. There is no buff or proc involved with the threat reduction. Think about it, if you kill an enemy...what does it matter at that point if you're generating less threat?

As logical as it is, Blizzard could've used a different wording, tbh.
