You customize your character mostly with Feats , binary abilities that let you access various powers or abilities. They can unlock your ability wear armor, cast spells or do special moves. There are more than 14k different feats in the game, all sorted by Class, race, featline and level - so there is no doubt a massive and deep system for the player to be able to customize his character. We have a clear goal to let all characters look, feel and play differently from another. Our visual character customization will go hand-in-hand with our RPG character generation and hopefully make many, many distinct classes and characters. Funcom is known to let players really customize their characters, and have a real choice in how they build their characters.

Basically each class has 1k feats since there are 14 classes and 14k feats. Someone please code me up a fucking builder when we get some feat info.

Careful using this logic.

Prestige traits probably use feats as well.

I was going to bring up PvP levels, but alas those are probably class based. Or will they create a huge generic PvP level feat system? I bet PvP feats will be shared amongst all 14 classes and may be minor at best. I.E. 5% Snare resistance. etc... shit like that probably

But I agree we need a builder that each player can attach to their roster so we all know who is going who, so when it all comes down we have every niche/cranny covered.

I can already guarantee this... I will be going after whatever poisons help me debilitate my target. Damage poisons are a joke unless they are massive. An assassin who uses damage poisons will probably rely on hit and run techniques, something I doubt I will have the luxury of doing in raid PvP.

Your right about that though I am still hoping for an insane number of the feats. The system is very DnD like so there will probably be a couple hundred generic cross class feats that grant basic skills and stat increases. If prestige classes are taken into the feat system then the will definitely reduce the number by like 500 or so from the total 14k at least being 5 crafters types in game. Heres hoping for 400 class specific feats.

I don't see crossclassing being in AoC.

Maybe some feats will be generic to all classes, like armor type feats, weapon usage feats.

If each feat has 8 ranks. 14 classes. 4 Prestige classes. Since you gain prestige at level 40 thats halfway through the game so...

That makes 14x+1/2(14x)=14000/8

Thats 83 different types of feats per class.

I can live with that.
