It seems like weeks have gone by since we set our sights on Kael'thas, Lord of the Blood Elves. As the second part of our attunement to Hyjal, Kael was the last thing standing between Halcyon Affinity and real end game content; I would not want to be in such a position. Nothing has defeated Halcyon Affinity in the 4 years we've been raiding, and some over-sized, pointy-eared, cross-dressing, metrosexual drama queen was gonna stop us now, and his goth industrial boy band he calls body guards wouldn't do much better.
The atmosphere was thick with anticipation going in, I'll remember this night always. We tested him for weeks, long hours, late nights, astronomical repair bills, and enough flasks to buy the server's alchemists shiney new epic mounts. Every day Kael'thas lived on, the gears of the machine would grind and strain, hatred would grow, tension mount. Everyone in tonight's raid could feel it, something in the air like the smell of blood...Highborn blood. We had danced the dance again and again, we knew the steps, and we had gotten sick of it.
No more games tonight, no more testing, no more wipes, no more tweaking strategy, no more standing on the brink of the final tier in Burning Crusade raiding. No more being denied the power and glory that we have earned 100 times over again through our pain and dedication...It was time to pay the piper. The clamor of weapons, the shouts of leadership, the sizzle of magic, and the smell of slaughter, a well-played symphony that would prove fatal for the Lord of the Blood Elves, as he would find we play our parts far too well; the crescendo, his death knell.
Halcyon Affinity is now a Tier 6 raiding guild, take a moment and let that really sink in. We 're not going to slow down, or stop. We're going to pick up speed and run like hell because our raiding has just begun! We've passed the test, hurdled the obstacles, beaten the challengers and proven our strength and determination! The way old Tronco sees it there's just a whole new set of assholes holding our rightful gear now and they're about to get crushed under the wheels of the machine! No sleep 'til Sunwell!
