Taunting will not be "Taunt Attack 001" etc. They said tanks will have an aggro bonus when fighting. So if you go down an AE spec, you will be better at tanking multiple mobs than a sword and board. Some combos will add hate, but it all amounts to hitting as many mobs as you want to hold aggro on. So please (for the guardian) do NOT overlook the pole-arm build. As you will most likely hold way better aggro on multiple mobs.

My knowledge for tanking in AoC is this:

Guardians:

Best armor available to them
Best knockback attacks
Counterattacking tank?
Debuffs related to endurance and stifles?
Probably going to be the MT unless the fullplate armor isn't that great
Pole-arm spec will be for Guardians looking for DPS, or tanking multiple targets at once.
Shield/Sword spec will be for one target tanking.
No magic

Dark Templars

Life taps.
Inferior armor compared to guardian.
Dark Magic user
Sword and board
Exponential buffs relating to the flow of combat, aka if your team is all redlining on health, the Dark Templar will grow with power..
Heals
Will be the best off-tank most likely

Conqueror

Dual Wield spec
Inferior armor compared to guardian
No magic
Buffs (bardlike)
Battle Standard
2-handed spec
Will probably see little tanking in a raid, but the buffs should/hopefully kick ass.

So far we have Alex playing a guardian, and I think Abigor as a Conqueror.
