--Raid progression 101 lesson 7, Checkpoints--
Today, class, Mr. Tronco will be teaching you all about raid progression checkpoints. Open your books to page 1337 and read along with me. WoW raiding is broken up into "tiers" and Blizzard likes to make sure that only those raid guilds that are ready, worthy, and capable should progress to the next tier.
Tier 4 is obviously entry level, bush league, every schmuck off the street can walk into T4 and start up a PuG, T5 is a respectable, it's where they start to strat check ya, gear check ya, and, occasionally, hardcore check ya. T6 though...Ah T6, the delicious cool whip on top of the raiding sundae. It's got what we want, it's where we want to be. T6 is our destiny and until two weeks ago, we were rocketing toward it at breakneck speed.
You know, Mr. Tronco isn't gonna lie to you, he's gonna break it down nice and smooth like he always does. Lady Vashj was a real wake up call for HA. Pure and simple. We walked over every mob in T5 like a bad joke, and we rolled up on Vashj with the same attitude. Vashj broke the raid force like wind against a tree, kicking our collective nuts with authority and leaving us to limp home. Those people out there that don't know the history of HA said things like "It's beyond your gear, you're going too fast, farm some then try again." However...Those of you that knew, those of you that have been here and even those of you that just got here and picked up on our style quickly, knew what it meant. Time to buckle down your ass kicking boots, tighten your ass kickin belt around your pants of +5 ass kicking and, by God, KICK SOME ASS!
Untold pulls, untold hours, thousands of gold in repair bills, flasks, reagents, ammo, and food. We brought it all and more, time and time again, starting early, leaving late. Halcyon Affinity was determined to bury that fish-assed whore under our own bodies, if that was the price. We would break Vashj or she would break us...Well that would have been a world first...For her. ;) HA down? Screw that, HA ROLLIN! -- This is Mr. Tronco. Class dismissed.
